PRO STUNT RIDING EXPERIENCE DAY This unique day is designed for those really wanting to take their career further as a stunt performer and learn more about the industry or for someone just interested in learning these skills.
The day covers a wide area in the business including riding to marks for camera positions, rearing horses, laying horses down, some Trick Riding skills including riding in Cossack trick saddles, riding with weapons - different swords, lance, shield and saddle falls.
Course Details
Full Day Professional Stunt Riding Course -
£225.00 per person
10.30am - 4.30pm
Arrival 10.15pm
We start the day with an introduction to the industry and a video of horse work in action.
Riders are then matched to horses and we start with formations and drill riding, learning to ride with the reins in one hand and moving on to riding with various props such as swords, Shields flags and restricted vision work.
We include a small Cossack Trick Riding session on the day working on a wooden horse first before transfering what you have learnt to actual horses and adding some movement in
Being fairly fit and flexible will help for this section of the day.
We include a rearing section on the day learning horsemanship as well as stunt rears and how to stay safe and look after people around you on set.
We demo horses falling and lying down for film and show work.
We include a detailed How to Fall Safely session with a small classroom theroy session followed by a practical session on the wooden horse and crash mats, moving onto a real horse subject to each person and how they are getting on.
We also learn how to be in character and to still act whilst performing stunts.
A good level of confidence, fitness and riding ability (confident with riding from a standstill to a canter) is required to attend this course.
You should be confident to ride different types of horses on this day
All our horses are trained for the work required on this day and used to all props and exercises.
You must be an experienced rider to attend this course with recent riding experience in the last year.
You will need to be 16yrs and over to attend this course
Our horses on this course vary from 14.3hh to 16.2hh

BRITISH STUNT REGISTER HORSE TEST TRAINING SESSIONS
Training for the British Stunt Register horse test?
We are a licensed and insured riding facility using well trained Spanish performance and Friesian horses as used in the film and T.V industry.
We can offer affordable, ongoing private or semi private lessons on a casual flexible basis.
We have helped many people through the test and are experienced in this area and have indeed passed this test ourselves so understand what is required and how we can help you!
£70.00 per hr session.
Please note: We do not teach people to ride from scratch. There are plenty of good local riding schools to learn your basic horse skills. This is due to only owning performance horses that we perform on ourselves.
